Local authorities have the power to make cash payments to people instead of providing community care services they have been assessed as needing. You can employ your own personal assistants or pay an agency of your choice to provide your support.

• Direct Payments Caledonia is the support organisation that Moray Council and Aberdeenshire Council have contracted with to provide the service. Est.2003
• The organisation is user-led and currently has 6 Directors 5 members of staff, who work on Direct Payments. The main office is in Inverness, from where the service is managed. Currently we have a part-time Fieldworker based in Elgin who provides the service to people living in the Moray Area and 2 full-time fieldworkers covering Aberdeenshire and a part-time admin worker based in Inverurie.
• The service is designed to provide knowledgeable assistance and advocacy to a new entrant to a direct payments scheme, relieving the applicant of much of the stress involved, and to support those who already receive benefit through direct payments.
• Direct Payments Caledonia has been established to provide support and information to clients accessing Direct Payments. We also provide information and presentations to local groups about Direct Payments.

Main Office

The main office is where our service is run from. Any enquiries should be directed to your local office, except for all payroll and employment law enquiries these will be dealt with from our main office.

The office is manned from 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday - Thursday and 9.00 - 4.00pm Fridays.
